Evil Has A Beginning-Are You Ready For "Maleficent"?

This Curse Will Last Until the End of Time

It’s no secret that I am a huge fan of any and all villains. In my mind, they’re not evil merely misunderstood.  Now Walt Disney Motion Pictures is bringing to life one of the greatest villains of all time as they bring to life the untold tale of “Maleficent”, opening in theaters nationwide May 30.  "Maleficent" explores the untold story of Disney’s most iconic villain from the classic “Sleeping Beauty" and the elements of her betrayal that ultimately turn her pure heart to stone. Driven by revenge and a fierce desire to protect the moors over which she presides, Maleficent cruelly places an irrevocable curse upon the human king’s newborn infant Aurora. As the child grows, Aurora is caught in the middle of the seething conflict between the forest kingdom she has grown to love and the human kingdom that holds her legacy. Maleficent realizes that Aurora may hold the key to peace in the land and is forced to take drastic actions that will change both worlds forever.

Last week, while attending the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration, Don Hahn, one of the producers of masterpiece and Elle Fanning who plays Aurora in the classic fairy tale
visited us at the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration at the Disneyland Resort bringing with them a special 8 minute extended trailer of from the new production. Now guests on both coast to the Disney Parks can enjoy this same exclusive sneak peek at Walt Disney Studios “Maleficent” playing daily in RealD 3D at Disney Hollywood Studios in the ABC Sound Studio and out here on the west coast at Disney California Adventure Park.

Mark your calendars and save the date-“Maleficent” will be quietly tiptoeing into a theater near you on May 30. Are you brave enough to face Maleficent?

Meet Tamela Hansen

Hi, my name is Tamela Hansen. I am from Gulf Shores, Alabama but currently I live 8 hours from my real home at Walt Disney World! I live in the small town of Prattville, Alabama. I have been married to my wonderful husband of almost 16 years, Dale (of course we have a lot of fun with that name) Hansen, and we have two amazing sons Daelan (13) and Landen (11). I have grown up with Disney as my home away from home. My oldest son adventured Disney for the first time at 13 months and my youngest son at 7 months. My husband and I spent our first year anniversary at Walt Disney World and from that point forward it has been a "must do" vacation at least twice a year minimal! I love Disney because "if you can dream it, you can do it" and this applies for anyone and everyone! I have traveled to Walt Disney World over 60 times in my lifetime and as far as I look at it my trips have just begun! I am very passionate about planning vacations to Walt Disney World for all families. Everyone and every price range in every corner of this world can have an amazing Walt Disney World vacation all they have to do is want to! So that has been my passion to share my experiences with as many people and help as many people plan vacations to Walt Disney World to make memories that will last a lifetime! I deal with Systemic Lupus and Walt Disney World is the best medicine I have found yet! We have also taken a Disney cruise and are currently planning our second Disney cruise. Everything Disney does is over the top. These are some of the reasons that I really enjoy writing articles about my experiences, joys, and adventures on my Walt Disney World vacations.

Meet Robert "Bob" Eckman

Hi! I am Robert “Bob” Eckman and I am currently lucky enough to be living the life of leisure after 20 years as a college textbook professional and college bookstore manager.  Although many times throughout the year you will find me in universities all over the West Coast supervising college bookstores buybacks, retirement has left me the time to fully explore life as a professional musician.  A keyboard player since my teens, I have played everything from hotels to Vegas, to Tahoe to Reno, to Casinos far and wide with bands ranging from 80’s and 90’s rock to being the keyboardist for one of the best known Elvis tribute bands around. I am happiest when I am on stage performing but recently I find myself most fulfilled musically when I am working as musical director for a wide variety of professional musical productions throughout Northern California.  I am a late blooming Disney enthusiast, not fully appreciated all the magic Disney had to offer until the last 10 years.  It just goes to show you that you are never to late to develop a passion for all things Disney. Aside from my passion for music I am a huge fan of Pixar, Marvel, and Apple products and I love the connections between all these companies and the deep commitment they all have to producing the very best products possible whether it’s a movie, a theme park or a computer.  I will talk all things Marvel, comics, Science Fiction, Star Trek and Star Wars with you any time, any place.

Meet Lottie Ferguson

Hi! I’m Lottie Ferguson the “Crunchy Disney Ma,” and I love to sharing information with your family on how to enjoy a natural parenting lifestyle, even while on vacation, especially Disney vacations!  For over fifteen years, I've been a frequent Disney World guest, having traveled with everyone from grandparents to teenagers, other couples, and lots of children!  If you need tips on baby wearing, cloth diapering, avoiding processed foods, restricted diets, pregnancy and breastfeeding at the parks, just me and I’m happy to help!

When we aren't in Florida, I’m trying to stay warm Flint, Michigan with my husband Kyle, a princess preschooler, a terrific toddler, and another baby due May 2014.  I love my job as a stay at home mom, because it gives me the freedom to be active in the community, and serve on several boards, including the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Flint, the Flint River Corridor Alliance, and a local foundation.  Cooking with my little chefs makes me very happy; I also enjoy photography, have a slight obsession with Dole Whip floats, and am super excited to rekindle my love of running, made possible through my latest addiction to runDisney.

Besides being a guest contributor for the Disney Gals, I write for WDW Fan Zone and co-host their blogcast, Midnight Magic every Friday night.  You can catch all the latest news in crunchy parenting at Disney Parks on my blog, Crunchy Disney Ma.
