Several weeks ago,
it seemed like just a normal, routine day.
Leprechaun traps were flooding the classroom, Spring Break was upon us and during recess I was finally scrolling through my email when I discovered the most pixie dusted message that literally took my breath away-“You are invited to the Most Magical Social Media
Conference of the Year- The 2014 Disney Social Media Moms Celebration!” at the
Disneyland Resort.
It’s one of those moments in your life where your breathing
stops, the world fades away and time stand stills and you read, and you read again and you reread trying to process what you are seeing. My first thought was that one of my many,
amazingly talented Disney partners was sending me a copy of their invite and
nothing could ever make me happier but then it truly sunk in that on this most
magical of emails was my name-and of course the screaming and the tears
commenced. Now how do you explain to
kindergarten students who were by then returning from recess just why Mrs. Turner
was sobbing? Why by telling them that you just found out you were going to get
to meet Olaf of course and she was the Happiest Snowman ever! There is nothing
like screams of joy from a roomful of 5 year olds, immediately followed by “Can
we have Choice Time now? ”to bring you right back to reality.
To say I am excited, thrilled, honored,
overwhelmed and so incredibly humbled to be selected for this most magical of
conferences would be the understatement of all times. So just what is this conference? Now in its 5th year, the Disney Social Media
Moms Celebration has quickly become one of the premier events of its kind and
one of the only family-friendly conferences for social media influencers and
opinion leaders. At the 4-day event, social media-savvy parents can learn,
network, get inspired, and share their inspirations - and spend some quality
family time together. The best part,
aside from it being held for the first time ever at the Disneyland Resort, is
the opportunity to finally come together with so many of the incredible friends
I have made thanks to this world known as social media and finally meet them in
person or be reunited with those I haven’t seen in much too long.
Like everything
Disney does, we know that this will be a once in a lifetime experience for each
and every one of us but we are just now starting to find out some of the many
surprises this event holds in store for us.
Our first arrived on the front porch earlier this week in the form of a
brand new Color Your World suitcase sent from the wonderful folks at American Tourister, who are
the official luggage of the Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland. Now I will totally be able to #PackMoreFun
while traveling in style. What else lies ahead for all of us still remains a
closely guarded secret but then that’s part of the magic and nobody does it
better than Disney.
Here's a look back of the magic that awaited the attendees of the 2013 Disney Social Media Moms Celebration that was held in Walt Disney World last year to help fuel the imagination, guesses and dreams of what might be in our futures April 10-13, 2014.
Be sure to follow along right here on Disney Gals to see
what the future holds or on Twitter @DisneyGals or @TheDisneyGals as well as
on Instagram @DisneyGalGayle. While
you’re at it, be sure to check out the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration at Disney Social Media Moms Celebration or on Twitter @DisneySMMoms or #DisneySMMoms for all the latest and most up to the
minute details. Want to have the opportunity to be a part of the Disney Social
Media Moms? A great place to begin is by attending Disney on the Road, which I was lucky enough to be a part of
last June when it was held in San Francisco. For more information on last June's event check out Disney on the Road San Francisco In the meantime, life is an adventure meant to be explored, lived and
enjoyed. Who knows what magic will await
you?
Disclaimer:
I was invited to the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration at Disneyland and
have offered a special discounted rate that was offered to all attendees
and their families. In addition, I have received products to help make my
experience even more magical. I will be
sharing the unique things I learn throughout the Celebration however these are
my own personal thoughts and opinions, not those of the Walt Disney Company.
