"When Others Fly Out, Heroes Fly In"
Flying
into theater’s today, crop duster turned global racing champion Dusty
Crophopper is back to once again fly into our hearts and teach us all how to
believe in and live your dreams.
In this sequel to last summer’s hit movie Planes, we catch up with our beloved
Dusty, voiced by the incredible talents of Dane Cook, who after his much lauded
racing success now finds himself as one of more famous, if not the most
famous, aeronautical racers in the world. However, all that high flying action
has taken its toll on Dusty’s gears when it is discovered that Dusty’s
damaged gearbox is a model that has long been out of production, and for the
first time in his flying career, our favorite crop duster must the come to
terms with the very real possibility that he may never race again.
Along
the way a new career opportunity for Dusty presents itself when it turns out
that, in order to pass safety regulation standards, Propwash Junction Airport
is in need of a second firefighting vehicle, to assist the elderly fire and
rescue truck Mayday (Hal Holbrook). First, though, Dusty needs to get the
proper certification from Blade Ranger (Ed Harris), a seasoned helicopter who
heads an elite fire and rescue team at the Piston Peak national park.
Joining
Dusty along the way is veteran fire-and-rescue helicopter Blade Ranger (voice
of Ed Harris) along with his courageous team, including spirited air tanker
Dipper (voice of Julie Bowen), heavy-lift helicopter Windlifter (voice of Wes
Studi), ex-military transport Cabbie (voice of Captain Dale Dye) and a lively
bunch of brave all-terrain vehicles known as The Smokejumpers.
