Just In Time for the Holidays....

Everyone that knows me knows that I am a huge fan of music. And not just any music-Disney music. I thought there wasn’t a Disney CD that I didn’t own so when the good folks at Disney offered to send me their new Disney Classic 4 CD set, who was I to say “No”.  I have not stopped playing it since they arrived at my house a few days ago. Looking for that perfect gift for the Disney lover or music lover, or both, in your life? Well look no further because this set is exactly what you need to make the holidays come alive .The Walt Disney Company is celebrating 90 years of magical melodies, and Walt Disney Records, with over eight decades of musical merriment under their belts has created a brand new four CD box set, now available on ITunes, Amazon or any place where music is sold. Throughout the week, Kelly and Judy and I will be taking you on a journey through each of the discs. The collection name, Disney Classics, truly says it all. From back in the day of “Who’s Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf” (admit it-you know you’re already singing it in your mind right now) through the decades right on up to Monster’s Inc. this is the must have holiday gift for every Disneyphile in your life. 

Long-time Disney music producer Randy Thornton divided the set into four themes – Disney Modern Classics, Disney Timeless Classics, Disney Theme Park Classics and Disney Television Classics. Randy selected some of the most iconic Disney music to fit each theme including “Who’s Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf,” “Mickey Mouse March,” “Be Our Guest,” “There’s a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow” and much more. In total, there are 94 different tracks included in the set. Disney Helps to Bring the Pier 39 Tree Lighting Celebration to Life

Holidays are even More Magical

With the Help of Mickey and Friends 

It’s time to usher in the holidays with a little bit of help from our friends at Disneyland as San Francisco gets ready to show their #DisneySide with the annual Tree Lighting Celebration on Pier 39 today from Noon-6: 30pm. Experience the magic – sing songs, give hugs to our Disneyland friends and welcome the holiday season of holly-jolly magic and merriment for the whole family.

The fun culminates at 6pm each night as PIER 39′s majestic 60-foot tree, adorned with glistening ornaments, bows and twinkling lights, will be illuminated against a stunning backdrop of the San Francisco City skyline.  Is there any better way to spend a Sunday in Northern California than to spend the day with your family and friends than with Mickey and Minnie and all that Pier 39 has to offer?  The fun culminates at 6pm tonight as Pier 39′s magical 60-foot tree, adorned with glistening ornaments, bows and twinkling lights, as Mickey and friends will bring the magic of the season to life as they help to illuminate the tree which is set against our one of a kind backdrop of the San Francisco City skyline.  Except for being in Disneyland itself, it just doesn’t get much better than this.

Color Us Pink! Introducing Beth Elliott-Newest Member of the 2014 Mom's Panel

Any dream can come true if you have the courage to pursue it. Never has a statement had more meaning than last night when the Disney Gals found out along with the rest of the world that after 7 years of dreaming, our very own Walt Disney World expert Beth Elliott had all of her dreams came true when she was named as one of the 17 pixie dusted members of the class of 2014 of the Disney Parks Moms Panel. For those that don’t know this magical gal, is happily married and lives in St. Louis, Missouri where she works at Washington University. Beth is proud mom to 3, count them 3 boys which may be why she has to keep her running shoes ready to go as she also is a Sweat Pink Ambassador.

Beth said some of her earliest memories are of family vacations at

Disneyland and Walt Disney World, so I knew she wanted to pass the Disney gene on to her own kids.  She’s traveled at every age and stage of her life, planned trips for groups of one to 20, stayed at resorts from value to deluxe, and is currently chasing down a dream of trying every last Walt Disney World dining spot on property (90+ and counting).  Did we mention she loves food?  Some of Beth’s other "must dos" at Walt Disney World are the thrill rides, Wishes, the Magic Kingdom opening show, and at least one Grey Goose Citron Lemonade Slush per trip. Beth we are so incredibly proud of you and over the moon excited to see all of your dreams come true. Be sure to follow Beth as she begins her magical journey.

We can wait to see you donning the life altering pink polo as you show the world your #DisneySide. In the words of Walt, “It’s kind of fun to do the impossible!

We persuade peeps to go to Disney all the time. No matter at church, kid’s performance or the grocery line. We’re Disney dorks to the core. No need for apples here, just give us a Dole Whip or Mickey Bar & we’ll chEAR.

Our friends ask--why Disney, are you sick & deprived? Because it’s like Neverland, adults are kids again & our dreams come alive! This magical place brings us laughter & treasure, monorails galore & so much pleasure. It’s an absolute vacation that we all adore, get an annual pass & you can enjoy more.

I salute the Disney freaks out there & raise our flag to you - stars & stripes neither here nor there, just fun furry characters everywhere! So with pride we fly our freak flag high into the air & wave it like we just don’t care.

Give us the choice of the First Family of the United States or being the First Family of Magic Kingdom-our choice is clear - even if you bribed us with a cold beer. There would be shanghaied military secrets, if Disney dorks were in charge, easily revealed with promises of Fastpasses at large.

All we ask for is Magic & Fantasy--is that such a crime? No bread & water for us, just Mickey pancakes & Tonga Toast--if we’re doing time. Walt Disney World arches are the first thing we see, when entering this special place to be--Welcome home is the next & dearest to us. Faith Trust & Pixie Dust are a must, that’s why our motto is “Disney or bust!”

Jedi Training In A Galaxy Near You

     So what do you do when you can’t get to Disneyland or Walt Disney World but you know you need to keep your Jedi training in top form? Well, if you live in Idaho, the force is strong in Meridian at Jedi Training Camp at the ATA Academy. Students from all over come to this Dojo located in a galaxy far, far away to learn the ways of the force and help protect themselves from “the dark side.”  Lisa Strader, who has dressed up as Princess Leia for the past ten year said that their Jedi camp is basically what kids of all ages do at home when they play Star Wars but they are able to take it to that next level.  

     The directors of this ATA Academy had the original idea for the Jedi camp as a way to get students into the Meridian, Idaho ATA Academy during the fall break. Ten years later it has grown from three characters and a dozen kids to over thirty Jedi in training.  The instructors incorporate not only the martial arts moves the ATA Academy is known for but also ways of respect and courtesy while letting the students have a great time with their favorite characters from the movie. 

    

     Not able to make it to Idaho to train as a Jedi Master? What if you could bring Jedi Training right into your own home? Thanks to the generosity of 115 Kickstarter backers, a newly launched Jedi Camp can do just that. The 6 episode web series not only brings out the love of Star Wars in all of us, but also deals with the bullying epidemic through this creative outlet.

 In addition, if you are lucky enough to live in Southern California, you can attend Jedi Training and be taught by real Jedi Masters the ways of the Force!  The first of its kind in Southern California, at this Jedi Training students learn to build and use their own Light Saber, Yoga Training, Meditation, Sword Play and much more all while sending a message that teaches children not to bully.
