Get Your Shields Ready-Captain America:Winter Soldier Opens April 4!

"Captain America:Winter Soldier"

Ok anyone that knows me knows that when it comes to a new action adventure movie, I am ready to go on a moment’s notice. And if that movie just happens to be part of the Marvel comics kingdom, I will sit through it no questions asked without even a kernel of popcorn, although I must admit popcorn makes every movie better. To say that I’m more than a little excited over the upcoming release of “Captain America: Winter Soldier” on April 4 goes without saying. I’ll be the first to admit, there may have been a time or two that I might just have run around with a garbage can lid keeping the universe safe from the bad guys but then who hasn’t?  Is there a person around that can possibly not be enamored with this magnificent not quite a super hero, super hero?

With his boyish next-door good looks, charm and wit, here is someone that was once considered too frail to enlist in the U.S. Military during World War II, so he did what any young red-blooded patriotic citizen would do -volunteer himself to receive an experimental Super-Soldier Serum. Suddenly enhanced to the pinnacle of human physical potential, Captain America was born-or reborn.   But as anyone will tell you, behind every successful man, super hero, or not, is a woman showing him the way, even when he may not readily admit it and thus even though her name is not in the title, this latest installment from the brilliant team of Marvel and Walt Disney Motion Picture Studios, the real star of this movie just may be The Black Widow. In  “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” Steve Rogers, teams up with Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, to battle a powerful yet shadowy enemy in present-day Washington, D.C.  For those that somehow have been living on a deserted island for the last few decades, the Black Widow, once again brilliantly brought to life by Scarlett Johansson, was first introduced to the Marvel audience as a Russian spy and antagonist of Iron Man. Recognizing that good always triumphs over evil, she eventually defected to the United States, and became an agent of the spy agency S.H.I. E. L. D as well as a member of the superhero team. The Avengers.  Check out this latest clip from “Captain America: Winter Soldier”:

And as an extra bonus, check out this behind the scenes featurette that finally gives Winter Soldier his day in the sun:

Will Captain America and The Black Widow, along with The Falcon be able to save the world from The Winter Soldier and annihilation?

And is there more than meets the eye between our beloved Steve Rogers and Natasha Romanoff? Only time will tell. In the meantime join in the conversation with other Captain America and Marvel fans by going to Facebook and Twitter and Like Captain America on Facebook: Captain America Movie and by
Following Captain America on Twitter: @CaptainAmerica

See CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER in theaters everywhere on APRIL 4TH!

Disney Social Media Moms Celebration 2014- We're Going to Disneyland!

Several weeks ago, it seemed like just a normal, routine day.  Leprechaun traps were flooding the classroom, Spring Break was upon us and during recess I was finally  scrolling through my email when I discovered the most pixie dusted message that literally took my breath away-“You are invited to the Most Magical Social Media Conference of the Year- The 2014 Disney Social Media Moms Celebration!” at the Disneyland Resort.

It’s one of those moments in your life where your breathing stops, the world fades away and time stand stills and you read, and you read again and you reread trying to process what you are seeing.  My first thought was that one of my many, amazingly talented Disney partners was sending me a copy of their invite and nothing could ever make me happier but then it truly sunk in that on this most magical of emails was my name-and of course the screaming and the tears commenced.  Now how do you explain to kindergarten students who were by then returning from recess just why Mrs. Turner was sobbing? Why by telling them that you just found out you were going to get to meet Olaf of course and she was the Happiest Snowman ever!  There is nothing like screams of joy from a roomful of 5 year olds, immediately followed by “Can we have Choice Time now? ”to bring you right back to reality.

To say I am excited, thrilled, honored, overwhelmed and so incredibly humbled to be selected for this most magical of conferences would be the understatement of all times.  So just what is this conference?  Now in its 5th year, the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration has quickly become one of the premier events of its kind and one of the only family-friendly conferences for social media influencers and opinion leaders. At the 4-day event, social media-savvy parents can learn, network, get inspired, and share their inspirations - and spend some quality family time together.  The best part, aside from it being held for the first time ever at the Disneyland Resort, is the opportunity to finally come together with so many of the incredible friends I have made thanks to this world known as social media and finally meet them in person or be reunited with those I haven’t seen in much too long.
Like everything Disney does, we know that this will be a once in a lifetime experience for each and every one of us but we are just now starting to find out some of the many surprises this event holds in store for us.

Our first arrived on the front porch earlier this week in the form of a brand new Color Your World suitcase sent from the wonderful folks at American Tourister, who are the official luggage of the Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland.  Now I will totally be able to #PackMoreFun while traveling in style. What else lies ahead for all of us still remains a closely guarded secret but then that’s part of the magic and nobody does it better than Disney.

Here's a look back of the magic that awaited the attendees of the 2013 Disney Social Media Moms Celebration that was held in Walt Disney World last year to help fuel the imagination, guesses and dreams of what might be in our futures April 10-13, 2014.

Be sure to follow along right here on Disney Gals to see what the future holds or on Twitter @DisneyGals or @TheDisneyGals as well as on Instagram @DisneyGalGayle. While you’re at it, be sure to check out the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration at Disney Social Media Moms Celebration or on Twitter @DisneySMMoms or #DisneySMMoms for all the latest and most up to the minute details. Want to have the opportunity to be a part of the Disney Social Media Moms? A great place to begin is by attending Disney on the Road, which I was lucky enough to be a part of last June when it was held in San Francisco. For more information on last June's event check out Disney on the Road San Francisco  In the meantime, life is an adventure meant to be explored, lived and enjoyed.  Who knows what magic will await you?

Disclaimer: I was invited to the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration at Disneyland and have offered a special discounted rate that was offered to all attendees and their families. In addition, I have received products to help make my experience even more magical.  I will be sharing the unique things I learn throughout the Celebration however these are my own personal thoughts and opinions, not those of the Walt Disney Company.

Disney Gals are Treated To A Moms' Night Out

Disney Gal Judy:

I had the chance to see Mom's Night Out a couple of weeks ago with a go. As like the main character in the movie, I thought I could get this blog post out right away but not so much.

"Mom's Night Out" is a wonderful movie starring Sarah Drew, Sean Astin, Patricia Heaton and David Hunt (Patricia Heaton's husband), who are producers of this movie.  Pieces of this movie I am sure are out of every mom's life, even one with grown children like me and my friend I brought with to see the sneak preview in a Chicago suburb.  I cannot tell you too much about the movie as I don't want to give away the plot, but we laughed through almost the whole film.  There were also many meaningful moments in the film but they were wonderful ones and not thrown in your face. Oh and Trace Adkins is wonderful in the role he plays!!!
