Love the parades at Disney's Hollywood Studios?

Do you love watching the Pixar Pals Countdown to Fun Parade and Disney Channel Rocks! at Disney's Hollywood Studios? Well, your last chance to catch these performances will be April 6, 2013! Although they are not adding a new parade at this time, Disney is always evaluating and refining their offerings and considering new ideas to build upon Disney stories.

When asked why they were cancelling these two performances Disney said, "We regularly and carefully review the entertainment offerings in our parks and make adjustments as part of our normal course of business."

So, go run to Hollywood Studios to catch one final parade with all your favorite Pixar Pals before they are gone for good!

Minnie Mouse Makeover

Minnie Mouse has gotten a Makeover?

Photos of Minnie Mouses makeover where unvailed at Disnelyand Paris, Minnie walked in a runway show at Disneyland Paris on Saturday wearing a dress designed by Lanvin's Alber Elbaz.

Minnie's new outfit is a long-sleeve navy colored cocktail dress and a pink sequined hat and is very cocktail looking to me.  Check-out the article int the Huffington Post on this little Makeover

Krista Joy

Disney Gals are excited to welcome a new Guest Author-Krista Joy of Disneyways.com  Please join us as Krista takes us behind the scenes of China at Epcot. Welcome Krista! We are so excited to have you as this week's Honorary Gal

One of Epcot's Best Kept Secrets!  - submitted by Krista from Disneyways.com

What comes to mind when you think of the gorgeous China Pavilion in Epcot's World Showcase?

Sure, China has lots to offer. The pavilion is decorated with serene ponds, crossed by fantastic bridges, and is dominated by a replica of the Temple of Heaven. Here you will also find Reflections of China, a Circle-Vision 360° movie - and there is a museum containing several ancient Chinese artifacts. You don't see that every day.
China's Nine Dragons is one of the most beautiful restaurants in all of World Showcase, and the Lotus Blossom Cafe has some of the best orange chicken in town. Shopping at Good Fortune Gifts and House of Good Fortune is a wonderful air-conditioned past time in the hot Florida summers.

Disney Cruise Line Has Character(s)

What is the first image that pops into your head when thinking of the Disney Parks? Maybe it’s fireworks high above the castle, or floating through It’s a Small World, but for myself and many others, it’s seeing the main mouse himself, Mickey! Watching my children hug Mickey and Minnie, and giving Goofy a high-five are precious memories that will stay with me always. But did you know you can meet Mickey and friends plus many, many more aboard the Disney Cruise Line? And the best part is you don’t have to go far to find them!

Character interaction begins even before boarding the ship, right there in the terminal! As your group ascends the escalators, keep your eyes open for Captain Mickey or Minnie greeting their guests as they arrive. Once all guests on board and well fed, the familiar melody of When You Wish Upon a Star is blown through the ships horn, and Mickey & Minnie throw a high energy Sail Away party with their pals; Donald, Daisy, Chip, Dale, Goofy and Pluto, all in their best nautical gear.

Tamela Hansen

The Disney Gals are pleased to welcome back one of our regular guest author's, Tamela Hansen. This week Tamela has a wonderful story about some her special Disney Dining experiences at WDW.

Hi this is Tamela Hansen again from Alabama. As I always say Walt Disney World is just waiting for you to make special memories. Dining is no exception. So many special memories can be made with dining experiences. Walt Disney World offers an enormous variety in dining options. There is dining that is specific for couples and families. Being a wife and mom of 2 boys and a big kid at heart we have enjoyed so many amazing dining experiences.

Character dining is of course any kids favorite. Ohana is one of our favorites. At Ohana you are family- cousins- and your kids can enjoy not only meeting Mickey in his pals but also they can join a parade around the restaurant with Mickey and his friends. 1900 Park Fare is also one of my favorites. This is where you can meet Cinderella, Prince Charming, Cinderella's evil stepmother, and step sisters. While dining you can enjoy a crazy interaction with the characters. Dancing with Prince Charming and Cinderella round out the perfect evening.

Disney's Oz the Great and Powerful

We went to see Disney's Oz the Great and Powerful this past weekend and wanted to give a quick review of the movie.

We did not see the movie in 3D but while watching it you could see where it would be great in 3D! You need to watch the movie closely and find the little hints that goes with the original Wizard of Oz movie with Judy Garland. The movie starts in black in white like the original movie and moves onto a larger screen with wonderful color.

James Franco plays Oz (Oscar Diggs), the three witches are: Mila Kunis as Theodora, Michelle Williams as Glinda and Rachel Weisz as Evanora (which one turns out to be the Wicked Witch?).  Zach Braff is Finley, Oz's assistant and Joey King is the voice of China Doll, which is a great part of the movie. The animation in the movie is wonderful and you would never know that this was "animation", I also saw an interview with the actors and they said the whole movie was filmed on a set, not one once where they outside! We really enjoyed the movie and would definitely recommend it.

The only part I would warn you about is not taking small children, as some parts are a "little" scary.

The bonus to going was that they were selling pins for The Variety Club, which supports local children's hospitals, camps, boys & girls clubs and after school programs and of course I had to get one because it was Monsters, Inc. and a good cause.

Part Two of Marrying into a Disney Family!

Or our Second Daughter in Law

As you all know by now we have been going to Disney (World and Land) since our boys where little, now I would think that marrying into a Disney family would not be an easy feet if you are not from that “type” of family.  Our first “daughter” Renee, now is somewhat of a pro at it as they have been married for 10 years and she has been on several trips with us, but our newest “daughter” Maggie is just being brought up through the ranks.

D23 Fanniversary

Rick Loretz and DisneyGal Lori

Posters began popping up around the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim and the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando in 2009 asking the question “Are you 23?” having Disney Guests question what they meant.

That March, we learned that the D part of the “D23” stands for Disney and the 23 refers to 1923, the year when Walt Disney arrived in Hollywood and the company was founded. D23: The Official Disney Fan Club has held wildly popular expos, publishes a magazine and communicates with Disney fans in the weekly D23 FanFare e-newsletter with breaking news and special offers.

D23 has hit the road with a 10- city tour of D23s Disney Fanniversary Celebration, commemorating dozens of unforgettable Disney milestones celebrating landmark anniversaries in 2013!

Radio Disney Music Award mimics the beloved Vinylmation

Radio Disney has announced that the Radio Disney Music Awards will be held on April 27th in Los Angeles, CA. As expected, the ceremony will feature many of our Disney channel favorites like Selena Gomez, Bridgit Mendler, Cody Simpson, Austin Mahone and Coco Jones. What you might not realize is that the popular Disney theme park collectible, known as the Vinylmation, served as the new model for the award.

The design was submitted by Lin Shih, a designer from the Disney Design Group (the art team from Disney Theme Park Merchandise), and was ultimately selected to become the new iconic music award. His name is Ardy! The Radio Disney team is now asking for help from their fans to create a unique spelling of Ardy's name. The contest started on March 4th and ends on March 10th. The winning suggestion will be announced on Monday, March 11th. If you have an idea, submit it on their facebook page now.

Disney Gal Tricia:

March has become a very important month for me in recent years. It marks the birth of my little princess and the start of my love/hate relationship with running. March 7, 2010 was the date I completed my first 1/2 marathon with runDisney so I thought I'd share some of my memories from that fabulous trip!
