Favorite Guest Author Tamela Hansen is back with us for another great post about how Walt Disney World makes every visit a memorable one!
Hi, this is Tamela from Alabama. I am back with another frequently asked
question. "Why do you keep going back to Walt Disney World?". I always answer
with "It is the Happiest Place on Earth to make Special Memories!".
At Walt Disney World if you can Dream it you can Do it! Special memories are made with Characters, Hotels, Rides, Attractions, Food experiences, and many many more.
Character memories can be made with park characters or with your own personal character twist! Character experiences are special for ALL ages. Even the teenager that thinks he or she is to " mature" to take a picture with Mickey may change his or her mind!
Ask yourself, where on Earth can you at Any Age be a Princess for the day, a pirate, or one of Mickey's buddies! At Walt Disney World the more you embrace the Hats, Shirts, Costumes, and (what I call) Glitter the more ENCHANTING your adventure will become! You can dress up as your favorite character 365 days a year and Everyone will love it.
Taking pictures with your favorite characters is always amazing at any age. From the youngest adventurer mesmerized by features and colors to the toddler so proud to see something such as Cinderella coming to life right out of the movie she saw last week. Even your teenage son walking by the large tanks at "Nemo and Friends" then spontaneously Mickey appears waving at him in full Scuba Gear! That's a Special Character Memory!
Then you have so many Character dining experiences but one of my favorite is Mickey's Backyard BBQ. It is extra special to watch Goofy spin your mom around the dance floor! Who can ever forget those moments when Mickey stops and kneels down to your Grandmother in her wheel chair and kisses her hand then Grandpa gets a kiss on the cheek by Pocahontas (and turns bright red)! Where else on Earth can you have these kinds of Special Memories with Characters!
I must include one Special Character memory I hold in my heart. My oldest
son was almost three and he approached Donald Duck (wearing his Mickey ears so
proudly) then Donald took his Mickey ears off his head and put them on his
tail! My son was SHOCKED! My son said " Why do Don Duck take me hat and put on
him tail?". So they began going in circles my son trying to get his hat and
Donald playing keep away! These are one of those memories that keeps bringing
us back to Walt Disney World as often as possible. It really is the "Happiest

What a sweet memory with your son and Donald! I think we've all been in that spot, feeling like we have to justify to people why we want/need more of the magic. It makes it easier, knowing there are so many kindred spirits (like you & the Disney Gals) out there!
