"The Bounce Back"

The Bounce Back Project

Walt Disney once said, “The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing” Enter actor Shemar Moore-someone who has decided to stop talking and start doing with his new movie project, “The Bounce Back”.  Not familiar with Shemar Moore? Think “Young and the Restless” or more recently, “Criminal Minds”. Still not ringing any bells-think a smile that could light the universe and one word-abs! Yes that Shemar Moore.

While attending the recent Disney on the Road Social Media Mom’s Conference in San Francisco I was lucky enough to sit with Erica Pena-Vest, author and founder of “The Guide to Military Travel”. Through our conversations I learned Shemar had just hired Erica to head up the Social Media for his new project, and by the end of the morning, I was shocked and honored to be invited to be a part of the group of bloggers like myself who were about to change the way movies are made. What is this exciting new way of making movies?  Here’s Shemar to tell you all about “The Bounce Back”:

"The Bounce Back is a heartfelt romantic comedy about finding the courage to love after love has let you down.  The character I play, Matthew loses his wife, his first love and after a short recovery creates a best-selling book and a system of survival in order to shield himself from the pain.  He throws himself into a yearlong speaking tour, which he thinks will keep him from falling in love again, until he meets the perfect girl.  I think there is a wonderful poetry to that, the idea of risking it all for love and I feel in my heart, that is why we’re here on this planet. To love.”

What really sets this movie apart from anything else out there today is that Shemar, in order to give you the movie goer, a voice while keeping the movie true to his vision,  is producing the movie entirely through crowd funding.  This movie is being brought to life on a budget of only $3 million - unheard of in today’s  marketplace but with technology and the opportunities available, there is no doubt that he can indeed get this done.

There are some real perks for you to be a part and support this project. They range from autographed pictures and scripts to digital copies of the movie and music all the way up to elaborate VIP access, attending the Red Carpet, speaking parts in the movie itself to lunch or an evening on the town with Shemar himself. Check out "The Bounce Back" page to find out how you can get involved. Be sure to follow along over the next few months as the dream becomes a reality as I bring you exclusive interviews, special prizes and take you along with me as I go along on this special journey and learn just what goes into the making of a movie.

Walt Disney said, “All our dreams can come true if you have the courage to pursue them”. Come along as Shemar Moore and the cast and crew of “The Bounce Back” follow their dreams.

Disclaimer: I was asked to participate in this campaign by the Bounce Back Film Campaign as part of a first-of-its-kind blogger initiative. I will cover the making of the movie from fundraising to premiere throughout the next year. I am being provided promotional material, giveaways and exclusive interviews but this is not a paid post. As always, my opinions are my own.
