Disney Cruise Line Makes Magic for Adults - Poolside

Jump on in, the water's fine! I'm not kidding. No matter what ship you are on, or what pool you are in, the water temperature will never fall below a refreshing 75 degrees. There goes my "It's to cold" excuse for not putting on a bathing suit. I can't even use the "It's too crowded" reason since all 4 ships have an Adults Only pool. So I put aside my excuses and image issues to check out this 18 and over haven called the Quiet Cove Pool.

Deck 9, Forward of the Disney Magic & Wonder is where you will find the 4 foot deep adult pool and 2 adjoining whirlpool spas. Cool down and enjoy some adult conversation, and if all that talking makes you thirsty, hop out of the pool right on to one of Signals' bar stools. Conveniently located across from the pool, Signals has your beverages and snacks covered. They also have waiters walking around the deck just in case you get too comfy on the padded deck chairs and can't find the will to move. If coffee is your drink of choice, be sure and stop in the Cove Cafe for their specialty blends, teas and mixed drinks. Keep in mind, no food or drinks are allowed in the pool.

Deck 11, Forward on the Disney Dream & Fantasy is home to the reimagined Quiet Cove Pool. The design of this area just screams luxury. The pool itself still has a 4 foot plunge/swim section, but has now expanded with a 6 inch deep sunbathing area, complete with built in loungers and, it connects to the Cove Bar. Now guests never have to leave the water to enjoy their favorite beverages! The twin whirlpool spas are now located on the side overlooking the ocean, and you can make appointments with Senses Spa for a massage on deck! This is extreme pampering. However, I'd like to revisit the name "Quiet" Cove. If you drop in during morning hours, chances are it will be rather quiet, evening through late night also seems to be quiet and more of a romantic atmosphere, but daytime...not so much. On my last visit, I dropped in about 3pm on a sea day, ready to soak in a few rays and read. I gave up after 15 minutes. The pool was hoppin, and the bar was doing a brisk business. While the the talk was centered around sports and shopping, not the sounds of kids laughing and Funnelvision movies, it was still distracting. Add to that the live music that was playing on deck (I always feel I should clap after each song), I think I reread the same paragraph 3 times. HOWEVER, the solace I was seeking was just a few stairs away.

Located on Deck 13, Forward on the Disney Fantasy is a foot deep splash pool called Satellite Falls. When the boat is docked, a gentle cascading "rain curtain" flows off the satellite. Plenty of plush lounge chairs surround the deck with an overhang for shade, and a waiter will be around to bring you beverages of your choice. If peace and quiet is what you are seeking, this is the place to go. Nothing but the sounds of the occasional bird and cascading water. Pure heaven.

The next time your travels take you on the Disney Cruise Line, take a little me time and try out the adult pool. Might just be that recharge you need from hanging with the kids all day, or a great time to reconnect romantically with your significant other. Whatever the reason, do it for you, after all you paid the bill!

I've attached a quick night time video walk around of the Quiet Cove Pool on the Fantasy to give you an idea of how the atmosphere has changed at night. Warning - I am nowhere near a professional videographer :) Click here to watch.

  4. Really enjoyed the "adult only" area on the top deck, especially toward the bow of the ship. Plenty of chairs to relax in and the noise from the other pool area, mid-ship, could not be heard at all!

    1. It is amazing that all the noise from the other parts of the ship just disappear, must be that Disney magic :)

  5. Great info Kelly!! We cruised the Dream and I had no idea about the Satellite Falls area! I was disappointed at how crazy the Adult Pool was during mid-day as well as I was just looking for peace. This would've been perfect. Looks like I'll just have to book another one and search this area out!

  6. Thanks Tricia! When you book your next cruise, keep in mind Satellite Falls is exclusive to the Fantasy. It truly is a little slice of heaven. :)
