Stage and Screen Star Mickey Rooney Passes Away at the age of 93






A bright star is shining in the sky tonight with the passing of legendary actor Mickey Rooney, 93 years old. Mickey Rooney was an American film actor and entertainer whose film, television and stage appearances span nearly his entire lifetime. Literally born in a trunk in Brooklyn and starting his illustrious career in vaudeville, this charismatic actor performances in every genre truly stood the test of time including his long standing association with Disney throughout the years. In 1939, he was caricaturized by Disney himself in the Donald Duck short, “The Autography Hound: Mickey Mouse “ and while many of his personal tales were fanciful – Mickey Mouse was not named after him, despite his claim




He was one of the many voices of Oswald the Rabbit. He voiced adult Tod in the 1981 Disney animated film, “The Fox and the Hound” and played the role of Lampie in the 1977 film “Pete’s Dragon” Mr. Rooney was the Movie Mason in the 2000 Disney Channel original movie,  “Phantom of Megaplex” as well as portraying the voice of Sparky in the 2001 direct-to-video film “Lady and the Tramp 2” Scamp’s Adventures”, as well most recently seen as a Smalltown resident in the 2011 film “The Muppets”.
You will be missed Mr. Rooney but the legacy you leave behind will live on in the hearts and souls of all of the lives you have touched.
