Party Planning Roundup - Showing our #DisneySide

A number of us Gals were lucky enough to be chosen to show our #DisneySide with an @Home Celebration! As not to flood our site, and your inbox, with individual postings, we will be doing a few group updates. Please feel free to share our ideas and let us hear any of your own.

Disney Gal Lori:

Date:    February 28th - March 1st (It's a long party!)
Theme: Toy Story
Plans:    We will be celebrating with 55 kids from Anderson Elementary school on Friday and thousands on Saturday at the Chandler Ostrich parade. My son has made extra large monkeys for a Barrel of Monkeys game and we'll be making some adorable aliens with the kids. Then we'll hit the parade route and take our float to Infinity and Beyond!

Disney Gals Judy & Kelly:

Date:    February 22nd
Theme: Disney Cruise
Plans:    We will be sailing on the newest ship in the fleet, The Disney Side! Our guest will be mainly older teens and adults, but we will all be embracing our inner child. Starting with a Sail Away Party, eating at "Cabanas" buffet, having a pirate photo shoot with Captain Jack, and ending with a dessert buffet. In between we will have Cruise Line games and adult beverages in "O'Gill's Pub".

Disney Gal Gayle:

Date:    February 28, 2014
Theme: Disney Dance Party-Music from the Parks
Plans:   The unsuspecting cast of Madrone Players' upcoming production of "The Wizard of Oz", thinks they are coming to a special Friday rehearsal. But instead, they will walk into the rockiness of the craziest Disney Dance Parties of all time, complete with Disco Ball, fist pumping, and make you want to get up and show your #DisneySide music from the Parks. Led by our own Disney Performing Arts Conservatory member,  the cast will be treated to the wildest afternoon in the wilderness, complete with Disney dances, photo booths, Disney food and magical surprises galore as they prepare to embark on their journey over the rainbow the following week! Shhhhhhhhh-don't tell-it's a secret!

Next week we will catch you up on how the plans are coming along. Until then...how are you showing your #DisneySide?

How ESPN Made This a New Years to Remember - For All the Wrong Reasons

The name Disney is synonymous with entertainment. A couple months ago, Gayle shared her story of how Disney takes young performers, nurtures and trains them for a week, and then gives them a chance to perform at Disneyland with the Disney Performing Arts Conservatory. At Walt Disney World, bands from across the country can be seen marching down Main Street in a pre-parade or entertaining the crowds, along with show choirs at Downtown Disney. Some of these young entertainers go on to become the singers and dancers you now see in the 3 o'clock parade.

Now, I would like you to think of the time & effort that these performers put in. Daily shows and rehearsals, weeks & months of practice, and years of voice and dance lessons. They are truly dedicated to their art, and you better believe how proud they are to say they perform at Disney! Then, there is the unsung hero. The parents who, week after week, year after year, have paid for the voice lessons, sat through never ending rehearsals, driven to every practice, and dried the tears or offered a consoling hug when their child didn't make the cut.

Show us Your #DisneySide With Disney Performing Arts Conservatory

#DisneySide Disney Performing Arts-Live Your Dream

How do you show your #DisneySide? Well if you’re aspiring young performers, you head to Disneyland to become a part of the Disney Performing Arts Conservatory. A few months ago, 40 talented singers, dancers, actors and puppeteers came together to work with the best of the best in Disney mentoring as they lived their dreams with the first ever, one week long, intensive performing arts experience.  A program 6 years in the making and part of the long running Disney Youth Programs, the Disney Performing Arts Conservatory allowed each of these 15-19 year old a chance to see their dreams come alive and experience the magic of performing on the Disney stage.

Each day started bright and early with daily training in each of the disciplines, but along with the dancing, singing and acting rehearsals came surprises as only Disney can do.

Happy 18th Birthday Zack!

A Dream is A Wish Your Heart Makes

18 years ago today, on September 22, at 5:23 pm Zachary Alexander “Fred Astaire” Turner danced his way into this world-although a little bit early at 28 weeks. Fred, you were the miracle, the one that “could never be” but yet there you were, proof that dreams can come true when you have the power to believe in them.

The time has flown by.  We all knew from the beginning that you were brought into our lives for a reason and every second that goes by, you are living proof of just that. From the little boy that could act out the entire “Fantasmic” show on top of the coffee table in full Mickey garb to the amazing young man you are today, dancing your way through life, you touch the lives of every person you come into contact with your gentle soul and have changed us all in so many ways.
