Could June 12, 1973 really, truly have been FORTY years ago? They say time passes in a blink of an eye but was it really 40 years ago that I was attending my Grad Nite at Disneyland? Where did the time go and yet the reality is, it seems like it was just yesterday.   Our high school actually wasn’t scheduled to go to Disneyland for Grad Nite. You can imagine my devastation that there would be no magical trip to Disneyland to celebrate my senior year but luckily, the rival high school across town overestimated the interest in their students attending this event and suddenly 25 of us were being whisked away with “the enemy” to the Happiest Place on Earth. That night it didn’t matter if you wore orange and black, or red and grey for on June 12 we wore black, red, white with a touch of yellow-at least in our hearts as the dress code was-well, a real dress code.

Happy Graduation Day

Tuesday is normally Trip Talk Tuesday but today we are embarking on a trip that is just a little different from our visits to one of the Disney Resorts. We are taking this journey along with countless other families across the country –it’s the journey that Graduation brings as young people finish one part of their life as they look forward to the next. So whether you have a child that is graduating college, high school, 1^st grade, preschool or everything in between today is a day for celebration.  Zack, Sammy, Dennis, Makena and Connor, as well as all of the Disney Gal kids and grandkids today we celebrate you!

It has sped by with lightning speed. Not just this year, but also your whole lives so far. You are our miracles,-our reasons for being. You make everything make sense in our universe and let us know why we were put on this earth. Throughout the years, your imagination s have taken you to new worlds filled with adventure. Now as you start a new journey, keep these life lessons you have learned along the way close to your heart.
